2.4.2-Types of Transistor. There are different types of
transistors, of which the most widely accepted classification is to divide them
into bipolar transistors or BJT (bipolar junction transistor) and field effect
transistors or FET (field effect transistor). The family of field-effect
transistors is itself quite broad, encompassing the JFET, MOSFET, MISFET, etc..
The basic difference between
both types of transistor lies in the way it controls the flow of current. In bipolar transistors, which
have a low input impedance, control is exercised by injecting a low current
(base current), whereas in the case of field effect transistors, which have a
high impedance is through voltage ( gate voltage). 2.4.3-bipolar transistors (BJT -
Bipolar Junction Transistor)

transistors. Technologically developed before
the field effect or FET. Bipolar transistors are
generally used in analog electronics. Also in some applications of
digital electronics such as TTL or BICMOS technology. The IDC has in common with the
absence of charge FET in the metal plates and a single flow field. They often come integrated with
arrays layer 3 to 4TG versatility. They work mostly at a lower rank
than those BICMOS and PIMOS
2.4.4Estructura internal (basic
level) A bipolar junction transistor consists of two PN junctions in a single
crystal semiconductor, separated by a very narrow region. Thus are formed three regions:
emitter, which differs from the other two to be heavily doped, behaving like a
metal. Base, middle, very close, which
separates the collector emitter. Collector,
much larger. The manufacturing technique is
most common epitaxial deposition.
Operation In normal operation,
the base-emitter junction is polarized directly, while the base-collector
reverse. Charge carriers traverse issued
by the issuer base, since it is very narrow, there is little recombination of
carriers, and most goes to the collector.
2.4.6-field effect transistors (FET - Field-Effect
Transistor). Channel N-channel transistors
Campolo effect of field effect transistors or FET best known are the JFET
(Junction Field Effect Transistor), MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor FET) and
MISFET (Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor FET).
They have three terminals,
called gate (gate), drain (drain) and original (source). The door is the equivalent to the base terminal of BJT. The field effect transistor
behaves like a voltage controlled switch, where the voltage applied to the gate
allows current to flow or not between source and drain. The operation of field effect
transistor is different from the BJT. In the MOSFET, the gate current
does not absorb at all, compared with BJT, where the current through the base,
despite being small in comparison with which flows through the other terminals
can not always be neglected. The IDC also have a very
pronounced capacitive behavior to be taken into account for analysis and
circuit design.
And bipolar transistors are
divided into NPN and PNP, the field effect or FET are also of two types:
channel n-channel and p, depending on whether the application of a positive
voltage at the gate puts the transistor into a conducting state or not driving, respectively. The field effect transistors MOS
are used in digital electronics very extensive and are the major component of
digital integrated circuits or chips.
